Virginia Film Festival Screening and Other News

So happy to announce that Seats at the Table will have its Charlottesville premiere at this year's Virginia Film Festival.  The film will be shown on Sunday 11/4 at 2:00 at Newcomb Hall Theater.

The subject of this film is Books Behind Bars: Life Literature and Leadership, a course founded by UVa professor Andrew Kaufman, in which university students meet weekly with incarcerated youth at a maximum security juvenile correctional center to explore questions of meaning, value and social justice through life-changing conversations about Russian literature classics.

The film had its world premiere at the Global Peace Film Festival in Orlando, Florida a few weeks ago, and received a wonderful audience response.  In a few weeks, Seats will be shown on Wednesday October 24 in Palo Alto, California as part of the United Nations Association Film Festival.  And a few days after the Virginia Film Festival presentation, the film will have its first university screening (of what I hope will be many)  at Florida International University in Miami.

Please feel free to share with friends and colleagues as this would be most appreciated.  As the film is still in debt, and the work to share the film with the wider world incurs additional expenses,  please consider making a charitable donation to assist us with our efforts.

You can do so by visiting   Seats at the Table - IFP Fiscal Sponsorship

And thanks to all of you whose past support has made possible the sharing of this inspirational work.

Thanks,

Chris Farina
